It's the QuicKutz "Around the World" storm!

Well, if you're a QuicKutz fan you've probably noticed some of the kazillion new Around the World products we've released this week! Here they are in a nutshell:

• 50 United States Shapes on 2x2 dies
• 15 Select Country Shapes on 2x2 dies
• 14 Country Collections on pre-foamed Cookie Cutter dies
• 3 travel-related GooseBumpz embossing dies
• 25 country flag Digital Designs for the Silhouette
• Map and Globe Digital Designs for the Silhouette

Oh, and is that not enough for you? Well, the next Silhouette release (on April 18th) and the standard May release are also going to be related to the Around the World theme. Except that May's release will be anything but standard. I hope I'm not being too much of a tease... I'm just trying to give you as much information as I can.

What? You're not buying it? You think that I'm just saying all that to be a tease? Well, then, I plead the 5th... :)

Okay, back to the new stuff that you already know about. I know that some people are still hesitant about Cookie Cutter dies (perhaps because of a bad foaming experience? boy, that phrase just doesn't sound right!). Well let me tell you that the Country Collections are pre-foamed and NOW IS THE TIME to give Cookie Cutters a chance!

There are so many different types of dies in the Country Collections, and surely at least one (or 8, or 14) have a couple dies that speak to you and you would use a lot on cards or in your scrapbooks.

In case you were wondering, the Norway Collection is my favorite. I was an exchange student there many years ago and I still haven't scrapbooked all of my photos (over 1000 for sure... ) so SOMEDAY I'll be all prepared to do that. And yes, moose crossing signs are really posted all over the country! It's awesome!

Also, did you know that Norwegians not only invented the really cool and utilitarian cheese slicer (ostehøvel), but also the paper clip? During WWII, Norwegians wore a paper clip on their lapel or sleeve to show resistance to the Nazis.

The calm before the storm

Just in case you've been wondering why the heck this QuicKutz blog has been so quiet lately, let me assure you that it's not because we haven't thought about our dedicated fans and readers.

We've been busy, busy, busy while preparing for a big April 1st release and a lot of other nifty stuff to follow. That, plus preparing for big Earth Day celebrations on April 22nd. Well, okay, maybe preparations have leaned more toward the product releases (lucky you)!.

Speaking of Earth Day, I've found a good solution (literally) for a general household cleaning solution: 1 part white vinegar mixed with 4 parts water. It cleans counters and faucets really well! The smell isn't like pretty flowers, but it's also not full of chemical fumes... and the bonus is that it's quite cheap. Try it out and tell me what you think, or what your favorite solution is. :)

It's all about respecting the Earth and preserving our world for the future, right? And what do scrapbookers love more than preservation? :D

Die-Cutting Proverb

I found an old document today with my notes and brainstorming ideas from one of our Marketing meetings. We've never (yet) used this in any of our campaigns, but I think it's a great proverb for everyone who knows the benefits of die-cutting!

Give a friend a die cut and they'll scrapbook for a day.
Teach a friend to die cut and they'll scrapbook for life.

It's a play on the old "Teach a man to fish..." Chinese proverb. I like how well it works because "die cut" is both a noun and a verb, just like "fish."

I hope it inspires you to teach a friend how to die cut (with QuicKutz, of course) or at least to share a crafting trick with someone who would benefit from a little mentoring.

Correction: March 11 is the QuicKutz Release

Well, the good news that I had yesterday is still good news, but it has changed a little.

The release date for our March shapes has only been moved up one week, not two. I shared the most up-to-date news that I had yesterday, but due to some logistic concerns the official release date--and you can quote me all over on this one--is now March 11th.

Sorry about any confusion this caused... and I hope that you will be consoled for your troubles with the new sale items that will be announced on Saturday, March 1st. Check your email or the website in two days to take advantage of the awesome monthly QuicKutz sale!  And how cool is it that we have different stuff on sale every month this year (and hopefully forever and ever)? As an occasional (ahem) shopper myself, I know how much great bargains can make it easier to bring home the stuff that I want. Enabler alert, I guess? :D

March Release News

Well, I have good news for everyone regarding March's Quickutz shape release! It was slated for March 18, but it has been moved up two weeks to Tuesday, March 4th... which is less than a week away!

If I were you, I'd plan to get your booty to the store to snatch up a vast selection of new 2x2 and 4x4 dies that will be released! :)
